SPL PREVIEW
BEACHSIDE LOOK TO SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT
University, University, University is all the Southern Premier League has been hearing in the early stages of 2014.
But Beachside will be looking to remind the competition that they are the current champions and still have what it takes to retain that title.
While University have knocked off two Victory League sides so far this season in Launceston City and Glenorchy Knights, Beachside FC have also taken a Victory League scalp in Northern Rangers.
Beachside veteran Brett Pullen is confident that even with a number of outs the side has the ability to take all three points this week.
“We have several players out but our younger players will get an early opportunity to impress new Coach Farrell Shaw If we manage to avoid University’s new "diving" tactic and stay away from the physical game they look for we are confident we can get a result.”
No matter what this weekend will give both sides an opportunity to take the early ascendancy.
In other fixtures this weekend we have a replay of last week's Lakoslejac Cup fixture between Taroona FC and Clarence United. Last week Clarence knocked out Taroona but OTKTB believes with a few inclusions this result will be turned around on Saturday.
The final fixture puts nelson up against an unpredictable Eagles outfit.
