Bulbs – daffodils,
Tulips, Hyacinths
Crocus and more
Pansies & Violas – out
with the petunias and in
with these to give colour
throughout the cooler
months.
Sweet Peas – add colour and
perfume to your garden with these
easy to grow annuals. Traditionally
planted on St Patricks Day 17th of
March.
Garlic – handy tip, wait until
the cloves have started to
shoot and the deeper
the cloves are
planted, the
wider the
harvest
will be.
Just don’t go
too deep.
Native plants – great time to get them
established
Autumn/Winter Veggies – almost
anything leafy and root vegetables –
cabbages, kale, onion, leek, broccoli,
cauliflower, lettuce, broad beans. If
you are not sure ask us in store .
Jobs to do in the garden
Feed your garden: The start of
a new season is a great time to
fertilise plants to make the most
of the growing conditions. Any
fertilizer is better then
nothing but a good
balance general fertilizer is often
the best.
Improve your soil for
Autumn/Winter
Vegetable planting: The
better the soil is the better your
harvest will be, so plenty of
organic matter like manure and
compost to improve and
rejuvenate your veggie patch will
do wonders.
Fertilise Lawns: A lot of lawns are
looking tired after summer, a good feed
now with the milder weather will keep
them happy and healthy leading into the
cooler months.
Lightly Prune Roses: If you haven’t
done it lately “dead heading” roses or
a light prune now will result in a
good Autumn flush of flowers for
you to enjoy before they go dormant.
What’s hot in stock:
