KIDS
Make an
IMPACT
By Lora Campbell,
One Mission Kids
Last summer, Emma, a bubbly,
outgoing preteen, attended a
weeklong One Mission Kids
event with a group of her friends at
Berean Baptist Church in Marion, Ohio.
On the first night, the kids began learning about the
needs of global workers in several African countries and
South Asia. They heard how providing bicycles and motorbikes to these frontline
evangelists drastically impacts their ability to share the Gospel with those living in
rural parts of those countries. Afterward, the kids spent time with their adult lead-
ers, praying for God to provide for this need and for more people to have oppor-
tunities to hear, understand, and believe the Good News of Jesus. At the end of
the night, we challenged the young people to pray before going to bed, asking
God how he wanted to use them to be part of his plan to bring his love and light
to the unreached.
When you ask kids to pray, you never know what to expect, but you can be
sure that God is going to do something big, which is one reason we always look
forward to hearing what God has impressed on their hearts to do. We rejoice
with them as they tell us how God has provided opportunities for them to raise
money for missions or how he has given them the courage to ask others to
help with the project. Sometimes, God even shows them unique ways to get
involved, which is exactly what he did for Emma.
