Months before knowing the need in Africa and South Asia or praying
that simple prayer, Emma and one of her best friends had been busy us-
ing their creative abilities to design and sell bracelets. They had diligently
saved the money to purchase pool toys for their summer vacation. How-
ever, when the girls went home and humbly asked God what he wanted
them to do, they each felt him telling them to use their savings to help
provide bicycles for global workers. The next day, they met to discuss their
plans and agreed to give their entire savings to missions. As they shared
their testimony with the group, their genuine enthusiasm beamed on their
faces. It is inspiring to have a front-row seat to watch missionary hearts
grow! Later, Emma shared with us how she felt God wanted her to continue
to use her talents to give to other needs too. Hundreds of other boys and
girls shared testimonies just like Emma’s because when kids pray, lives are
changed and big things happen!
This past year alone, more than 1,000 kids partnered with One Mission
Society to impact their world for Christ. As they have obeyed and acted in
rhythm with God’s heartbeat, the rippling effect has been nothing short of
miraculous! With God’s help, they inspired others to join them in raising more
than $16,000 for missions!
“Helping Grow Missionary Hearts” is not just a memorable tagline for OMS’
One Mission Kids ministry; it drives everything we do. We encourage kids to
reach their maximum missions potential to learn, pray, and give, and to go make
disciples of Jesus Christ. Reaching beyond the home, OMK uses a C-4 approach
to impact today’s youth for missions by dynamically sharing at camps, churches,
classrooms, and conferences.
OMK resources are crafted to help churches, schools, and families teach world
missions to the next generation through the ministries of One Mission Society.
Then, as these kids respond to what they learn, countless opportunities to share
the Gospel are made possible and lives are impacted for eternity. These young
people are present-day examples of what missionary William Carey meant when he
said, “Expect great things from God. Attempt great things for God.”
