Every Community for Christ( ECC) is OMS’ church planting ministry. OMS is committed to equipping disciple-makers and church planters around the world.
New Village Church Planting, one of OMS’ largest training programs, trains village church planters in 35 African countries, with more than 700 training centers and a goal to plant a church in every African village by the year 2050.
Hope61 equips the global church body to prevent human trafficking in their communities and build bridges to sharing the Gospel. In 2024, the Hope61 team trained 5,948 people in 147 Engage sessions across 6 continents.
Raising Awareness
In eastern Uganda, deceptive job offers have long been used to traffic vulnerable people. But the story is changing at Nakuku Joy Church in Busia, Uganda. Thanks to Hope61 training, many women began refusing these nefarious job offers. Instead, they began working together to sell their handiwork in the market to earn a living. This allowed them to support their families while remaining in the protective community of their village and church.
They didn’ t go. They weren’ t victimized. They didn’ t need to be rescued.
They didn’ t need to be restored. They didn’ t go.
OMS’ Theological Education( TE) serves the global church by raising Spirit-led and biblically astute disciple-makers who reflect God’ s holiness. TE primarily works in two ways: through strategic partnerships with Bible colleges, seminaries, and ministry training institutes worldwide, and by equipping national partners and missionaries.
In 2024, 9 TE members worked with 37 schools in 29 countries to teach intensive courses, offer consultations, mentor and coach leaders, provide needs assessments and training opportunities, serve as board members, and cultivate partnerships. TE celebrated 5,734 enrolled students and 1,384 graduates from 36 schools.
World Intercessors( WI) is the hub of prayer and intercession for OMS missionaries, ministries, and mission fields. Our intercessors faithfully pray for the needs that arise on the mission field, travel to OMS fields to pray with missionaries, and conduct prayer walks in the communities where they serve. We answer God’ s call to pray for all people, intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them( 1 Timothy 2:1).
In 2024, WI served in 3 countries, praying with 27 missionaries and 13 national partners. They also conducted prayer walks in
11 towns and 3 cities and prayed at 2 churches and 5 mosques in Europe.
WI led 12 OMS HQ prayer chapels and faithfully met to pray for more than 130 new missionary prayer requests every two weeks throughout 2024.
WI has also participated— or is scheduled to participate— in prayer at three OMS regional summits and in seven countries in 2025.
