A TTW BUFFET OF
CARIBBEAN, AMERICAN
& EUROPEAN ITEMS
TRINIDAD THEATRE WORKSHOP (TTW)
graduated 13 Trainee Actors on Saturday 18th
July at its theatre in Belmont.
This troupe of young actors, a “motley crew” of
sorts, contained within its talented archetypical
ranks the unexpected but endearing synergies
of a differently-abled young lady, a full-fledged
medical doctor, a citizen from Gambia, a student
from NYU - Abu Dhabi and a citizen of Jamaica.
The TTW’s intimate stage setting easily
facilitated the troupe’s menu of performances
- a buffet of Caribbean, American and European
classics served with a style that could only be
described as “sophisticatedly simple.” It was an
evening of Impossible Situations where Vaginas
Monologued and where Julius Caesar - the Man

For All Seasons - and his popularity dried up like
a Raisin in the Sun and where Romeo and Juliet’s
relationship turned into a Fairy Commesse with
a Dragon who couldn’t Dance On De Block.
If one were to judge purely from the items
chosen for the evening’s feast, credit must
indeed be given to the artistic chefs - Evelyn
Caesar Munroe and Michailean Taylor - who
prepared the dramatic buffet and directed the
thespian display.
At the end of the evening, I left the theatre
feeling artistically satisfied and well-fed!
Trinidad and Tobago Theatre is in quite capable
hands.
