Queensland 2 Area Group Over the past three years the Qld 2 Area group has shifted the dial on safety, moving from one of the worst safety performing regions in the nation into a region that consistently has performed as the best safety region. Qld 2 ended the financial year with an AIFR of 6.4, well below the national target of 9.8. Expectations set for their team on looking after each other, ensuring all injuries are reported in a timely manner resulting in early intervention for any injured team members. This refocus has also seen an improvement in incident and hazard reporting that has led to many positive outcomes for the area group. This approach has resulted in a positive safety culture that is evident in Qld 2. Yammer engaging team member through collaboration More than 3200 team members have engaged in Yammer over the last 12 months with nearly 1 million messages read and more than 5000 messages posted. This engagement has democratised communications at Officeworks and given team members across all sites, roles and employment types the ability to engage, share and learn from each other. Highlights include: inspiring examples of Our Purpose being shared on a regular basis across all groups, in-store activity and community involvement engagement at an all-time high via Yammer, Print & Copy group engagement up 165% on prior year and Tech up 142% on same period. Back to School Appeal 2018 The 2018 Back to School Appeal has been the most successful to date. The Appeal resulted in more than 800 students being supported through The Smith Family’s Learning for Life program – more than double the previous appeal. With a move to sponsoring individual students instead of programs, our team members had a tangible target and an easy way to communicate where donations were going. All states and regions exceeded their 2017 contributions and a standout was Officeworks Punchbowl (NSW) supporting 26 local students (a whole class) this year. Daniel Black (Area Manager - Queensland 2) accepts the award on behalf of the area group. Callan Date (National Corporate Communications Manager), Yammer community. Hannah Hudson (National Partnerships Coordinator) and Ivana Skularac (SBM, Officeworks Punchbowl), Back To School Appeal. 9
