Officeworks
Awards & National
Leadership
Conference
In August, we held our National
Leadership Conference in
Melbourne, with Officeworks
leaders from across the country
coming together to reflect on how
we have helped make bigger
things happen in the past year
and look toward the year ahead.
Senior leaders took the team
across the Strategic Objectives for
this year and highlighted fantastic
examples of teams living Our Way
every day in their roles.
Officeworks
Leadership
Awards 2018
As part of the National Leadership
Conference, teams demonstrating
key leadership qualities across
Our Way, the Officeworks Guiding
Principles and the Positive
Difference Plan were recognised
and presented with an Officeworks
Leadership Award.
Congratulations to all of the
winning teams! With more than
50 nominations, it was a tough
competition.
Northern Region Shrinkage
action group
The Northern Region Shrinkage
Action group drove a significant
reduction in shrinkage across a
large number of northern region
stores through a collaborative effort
of the Loss Prevention and Retail
Operations teams.
During the financial year the team
have driven a reduction in shrinkage
of $1.3m (73.5% of the national total
of $1.775m).
A stand out here was the Bondi
Junction store who lost $269k to
shrinkage last year and have
improved this year by more
than $220k.

Officeworks Taree (NSW)
Officeworks Taree (NSW) has been
helping make bigger things happen
for young Indigenous boys in their
community.
By building great relationships with
the Clontarf Foundation and one
of the local schools, Chatham
Academy, the Taree team has
made a difference for a number
of local boys, assisting with work
experience as part of their studies
and offering employment with
Officeworks.
Officeworks Taree now has five
Indigenous team members,
representing 20% of the Taree team.
Learning & Development
range launch team
In February, through a collaboration
between the Learning &
Development Buying team, Brand
team and Advertising team,
Officeworks was able to successfully
launch the new Learning &
Development range with a strategy
delivering widest range at great
value.
In terms of financial performance of
the total category, sales were up 33
per cent YOY for the March to June
period and margin up 19 per cent in
the same period.
Congratulations to all the teams
involved in helping make bigger
things happen for little minds.
