Snjezana Tuhega reaches 100th
blood donation milestone
Snjezana Tuhega (Team
Member) at Officeworks Cairns
(Qld), otherwise known as Suzie,
recently achieved a significant
milestone in her life when she
delivered her 100th blood
donation on World Blood Donor
Day, 14 June 2018.
Suzie is passionate about helping
make bigger things happen
and giving back to people less
fortunate than her. “I am blessed
to have two arms and two legs
and I wanted to give to those who
were missing something or less
fortunate than me” said Suzie.
Suzie’s plasma saves up to three
lives every two weeks, helping
others have a better chance
at life. “I am so blessed to have
awesome blood and I love to
help people”.
Suzie finds it extremely rewarding
to give to those less fortunate in
her community, and will continue
to drive her passion for donating
blood for as long as possible.
What’s great about Suzie is her
ability to stay motivated, set goals
and manage her passion for
donating blood. During the day
Suzie works at Officeworks but also
works part-time as an Uber driver
and security guard at night.
Suzie’s local community has
embraced her charitable efforts
and given her lots of positive
feedback. Her milestone was even
praised in an article that featured
in the Cairns Post.
Shayna Suluvale, Stationery
Coordinator at Officeworks Cairns
store is extremely proud to be
working alongside Suzie. “I am
excited to celebrate Suzie’s great
achievement” said Shayna
Heath to represent Australia in
under 21s men’s hockey team
Heath Cremasco (Business
Specialist) from Officeworks
Albany (WA), has been asked to
represent Australia in the under 21s
for men’s outdoor hockey. Heath
started at the store as a causal
team member when he was 15
and slowly worked his way into the
business specialist role. “Hard work
definitely paid off for both getting
into the team as well as achieving
BSIS,” he says.
Heath recently represented
Western Australia at the Australian
Country Hockey Championships.
To be considered for the
Australian team, he submitted an
application to express his interest.
Heath was shocked when he
received the news that he would
represent his country in the sport
he loves.
“I just nominated for the sake
of it really, but to be looked at
and considered, then actually
selected is awesome. I am really
excited to get over there and
play!”
While with Officeworks, Heath has
gained teamwork, leadership and
perseverance skills which will serve
him well in collaborating with his
new hockey team.
As for Officeworks Albany, the
store team has been really
supportive of Heath’s hockey
ambitions. He has even been
granted annual leave over the
busy period in December for the
competition. “The store has been
really supportive and the whole
team is quite happy for me,”
said Heath.
