Dry July at Port Macquarie (NSW) supports the comfort, care and wellbeing of cancer patients Jordyn, and last but certainly not least - a milkshake station! During the month of July, Port Macquarie’s resident cleaner and valued team member Mark Beauchamp participated in “Dry July” to help raise funds for those affected by cancer. In total, between the morning tea and a generous donation by another team member, the team raised $600 in total for Mark and the cancer support organisations across Australia that help improve patient comfort, care and wellbeing. The Port Macquarie team was more than excited to contribute to Mark and the cause. In order to raise donations, the team held a big morning tea – organised by Jordyn Fisher (Team Member) - where the team could put forward some yummy goodies and/or pay a small donation to go towards the fundraiser. The morning tea included fruits, sweets, some amazing homemade goods by For her hard work organising the morning tea, Jordyn received Port Macquarie’s “Team Member of the Month”. Well done Jordyn! The Port Macquarie team is very proud of Mark and his fundraising efforts! Officeworks Virginia supports teenager complete Kokoda Youth Challenge Once a month, the Boondall Neighborhood Watch (NHW) holds a sausage sizzle at Officeworks Virginia (Qld) to raise funds for worthy causes. Through the sausage sizzle, they recently raised funds for local youth, Connor who is striving to complete the 2018 Kokoda Youth Challenge. Connor is participating in the challenge which his school is offering to students. Connor’s motives fit right within their values in encouraging individuals, families and neighbourhoods 40 to work together to strengthen and connect communities. Connors story is exactly what Neighbourhood Watch is hoping to get more involved with in the community. Officeworks Virginia was contacted by NHW and were noted of Connor’s ambition. They valued his aspiration and will to take part in the challenge and wanted to help. They hosted a sausage sizzle at their store to help raise money for Connor’s trip. NHW believes that supporting youth through activities such as the Kokoda Challenge, helps to implement positivity and create opportunities in the community. NHW is extremely grateful for Officeworks Virginia in getting involved with the fundraiser event, helping hold the sausage sizzle and ultimately help to generate the funds which can now be used for not only Connors story but other worthwhile programs in the community.
