Igniting the creative
passions of our customers
When it comes to art, do you
think of Officeworks? Not all our
customers do – yet. But that’s
exactly what the Marketing
and Retail teams are trying to
accomplish with our refreshed
Love to Learn creativity program.
Off the back of campaigns such
as Enrich Your Downtime, our
Creativity Brand Platform and
in the investment in our growing
range of art supplies Learn and
Grow products, the time was ripe
to reinvigorate our in-store class
program and help our customers
revive their artistic passions.
In May, we kicked-off our
refreshed Love to Learn program
with a series of eight online
how-to video tutorials – How
to Paint a Portrait; How to write
the Alphabet with Calligraphy
Lettering; How to Draw an Eye;
How to Write a Brilliance Poem;
How to Draw and Dog; How to
Paint and Landscape; How to
Make Wedding Invitations with
Calligraphy and How to Get
Started with Creative Writing. Each
featured an expert artist teaching
the skill.
We also worked with these artists
to help us re-imagine our in-store
class collateral with revised Team
Clockwise from top:
Customers in our Yarraville
store learn to draw a dog in our
‘How to Draw your Favourite
Animal’ class.
Team Member Maddy at our
Lewisham store setting up
for the Time to Write creative
writing class in September.
Customers at our Launceston
store practise their calligraphy
in our ‘How to Write Calligraphy
Letters’ class.
Member guides, customer hand-
outs and practice sheets. painting and creative writing
running across June to October.
The first Love to Learn class off the
bat was calligraphy. More than
500 customers participated in
the class over the month, a 25%
increase on the previous year’s
numbers. And the program is
continuing in store, with creative
classing on drawing, watercolour Customer feedback on the
classes has been very positive and
the team are looking forward to
improving the classes and finding
more opportunities to bring our
customers into store for creativity
classes in the future.
