It stars Tomorrowland’s Britt Robertson as Sophia, a student who falls hard for a rodeo rider named Luke (Scott Eastwood – yes, the surname does mean he’s Clint’s son). And so the natural next step was for by Luke’s incredibly dangerous profession that is to ride a bull for as long as possible, no matter the cost. Meanwhile an old man named Ira (Alan Alda) looks back on a similarly powerful relationship he had in his youth, and we see how it relates to Sophia and Luke today. A moving drama. Set in 1968, 42 years before they met Gru, Minions sees the irrepressible gang set out on a quest to find an evil supervillain to serve (after all, what’s a minion without a master?). They find their dream baddie with Scarlet Overkill (Sandra Bullock), who is so deliciously nasty even they might have some reservations about her. Scarlet, along with husband Herb (Jon Hamm), soon hatches a plan to take over the world, and our little yellow chaps get caught up in her schemes.
