Because no matter how extreme your shenanigans, it can’t possibly be as bad as what Kate McKinnon (Jillian Holtzmann in Ghostbusters 2016) and her colleagues get up to in this nice but naughty festive comedy. The plot sees Jennifer Aniston’s uptight CEO Carol threatening to shut down her hard-partying brother Clay’s branch. To prevent this, Clay (T.J. Miller) decides to throw the office Christmas party to end all office Christmas parties, in the hope of impressing an important client and securing a sale that will save both his job and that of everyone at his branch. Of course, things get a little out of hand – to put it mildly! This one should come with a warning: DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME (or the office for that matter). When American pilot Chesley ‘Sully’ Sullenberger landed an ailing airbus in a New York river, in the process saving the lives of all 155 people on board? Well, this is that story! Directed by four-time Oscar winner Clint Eastwood and 2 DEC starring two-time Oscar winner Tom Hanks, Sully is more akin to a thriller than a biopic. That’s because, as it turns out, not everyone was thrilled with how Sully reacted when a flock of geese crippled his airplane shortly after takeoff on 15 January 2009. Could he have made it back to the airport? A thought-provoking and moving film about a man who stood tall when it counted.
