We are delighted to have Eva Mackinnon ( S5 ) as one of our roaming reporters . She has been interviewing members of the Marr College staff to help students get to know their teachers better .
We have 2 interviews this edition because we didn ’ t include it in the June edition … first up … Mrs Ferguson from the English Department .
Mrs Ferguson is one of Marr ' s newest English teachers and is here permanently .
Q : Where are you from ? A : " I grew up in Irvine and now live in Prestwick , so it ' s good that I don ' t have a long drive to get to work ."
Q : How long have you been an English teacher ? A : " I did my placement in 2021 , so this is my third year of teaching- and I love it ."
Q : What is your favourite part of your job ? A : " I love that I can talk about what I love ! The pupils here are amazing and I have a great department to work with ."
Q : What do you like most about Marr ? A : " I like the community here and there is a good school spirit- I haven ' t had that before in a school . I like seeing the different houses being competitive together ."
Q : What do you like to do in your spare time ? A : " I obviously love to read- I spent most of my summer reading ! I also like watching tv shows and I ' m currently watching the new season of Only Murders in the Building ( which we both recommend !! 😊 .) I also play piano and enjoy learning new songs on it ."
