European day of languages takes place every year on the 26th of September . Marr celebrated it by having an S1 assembly with over 20 fantastic students that told us about the different cultures , foods and music .
Some students read out poems or sayings in their language . We were also very lucky to hear an S4 sing a whole song in Spanish . The S6 language ambassadors also told us about the jobs you can get with different languages . At lunch we had loads of different exciting activities such as flag face painting , photo booth with loads of funny props to use and we also had pin the tail on the bull !
All S1s were also given out sheets with teachers ’ names and when we saw them they would tell them the date and we would guess what language they were speaking . Marr finds it important to celebrate as it gives us an opportunity to celebrate all of the different languages and cultures here at Marr College . Thanks again for the 20 amazing students that helped run the assembly and thank you to the language department for organising the day !
Special thank you to Mr . Norrie for giving his time to let us interview him and tell us more about the day .
