PANKAJ & NIDHI: MOSAIQ
Debuting in the couture segment, designers
Pankaj & Nidhi presented ‘Mosaiq’, a collection
inspired by art forms that were prevalent during
the Byzantine era. The collection features 3D
hand-cut appliqués in metallic fabrics; numerous
elements were intricately used to create a magical
effect on tulle satin and organza. The colours
were a grand mix of grey, citrine, yellow, sapphire,
molten gold, and silver that adorned billowy

RAHUL MISHRA: MALHAUSI MONACO
Inspired by y his travels to Monaco and his sleepy
village, Malhausi in Uttar Pradesh, Rahul Mishra
brought about the stunning imagery of both
these places in his collection ‘Malhausi Monaco’.
There was a delightful play of floral motifs with
architectural designs along with 2D and 3D
hand-embroidery for surface ornamentation. The
line featured Swarovski crystals and silk threads
that recreated the eye-catching landscapes of
Malhausi, think rich green forests and lakes,
along with the picturesque streets of Monaco.
Silhouettes moved from traditional bridal
lehengas, cholis, and dupattas to elegant floor-
length coats, long and lean gowns, ornate minis,
jackets, kurtas, and tunics. Menswear comprised
ethnic pieces, which were delicately embroidered.
