Here at the National Autistic Society’s Anderson School in Chigwell,
Essex we have an exciting opportunity to join our multidisciplinary
team as an Advanced Occupational Therapist. This role would suit
someone who is passionate and enthusiastic about supporting our
students within our school.

Salary: Band 7 £33,222 - £43,041 pa
We are excited to offer this rare opportunity for a motivated,
highly skilled and experienced individual with demonstrable service
improvement and leadership skills to join our well- established
community learning disability services in the South of the county
based in Abingdon.
We are part of a close and supportive multidisciplinary team
comprising Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and
Language therapists, Nurses, Psychologists, Doctors and support
staff. We work closely with our colleagues in Social Care.
The service we offer is well regarded and our teams are highly
skilled and passionate about what they do.
You will be based in one of our community learning disability teams
where you will be a key member of the senior team across the
countywide services, lead the Occupational Therapy service and
deliver evidence based Occupational Therapy interventions using
your creative problem solving to support clients to achieve their
goals.
The Learning Disability Service values strong clinical leadership and
is constantly working in partnership with service users and their
families to achieve the highest level of excellence in practice.
The successful applicant will become part of friendly and supportive
team and will be offered regular supervision, appraisal and
opportunities for continued professional development. A car driver
and to have access to a car that can be used for work purposes is

The Anderson school caters for students aged 11-19 and is part of
the NAS Enterprise campus that includes one of the Lorna Wing
Centre for Autism our national diagnostic and assessment service and
an Enterprise Hub.
You would become part of an existing dedicated team of therapists
who strive to deliver best practice at all times. You will be responsible
for evaluating children’s abilities, presenting findings in reports and
setting collaborative goals with those that support the student. You
role would also include opportunities to deliver training, support
environmental modifications as well as direct group and individual
therapy sessions. You will be expected to work autonomously and
be confident in representing Occupational Therapy within annual
reviews, team meetings etc. along with ensuring effective service
delivery and facilitating positive outcomes for our students.
You must hold a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification and
be registered with the HCPC.
