MidCentral District Health Board is entering an exciting period of innovation and transformation.
Come and join the innovative occupational therapy team at the
University of Plymouth in a Lecturer role where you really can
make a difference. As part of the School of Health Professions
we work on a range of educational programmes and research
initiatives. We value a strong focus on occupation, progressive
teaching, collaboration with partners, scholarly approaches
and a commitment to inter-professional working.
Currently there is a new Advanced Clinician/leadership position being advertised in the acute
mental health occupational therapy. We are seeking someone with enthusiasm commitment
and creative thinking that has the skills and vision to grow occupational therapy, support staff
and work alongside others to develop the model of occupational therapy services for our
consumers. You will work across the care continuum at top of scope to lead change and bring
innovation and transformation to acute mental health occupational therapy.
Occupational Therapy is a critical service to be part of a new model of care focused on primary
health and community rehabilitation integration to deliver positive health outcomes for patients
and communities. Career development opportunities in allied health strategic leadership
positions are also emerging as part of restructuring with a clear priority to develop allied health
practice within the district.
It is envisaged that this lecturing post will teach across
all programmes. There are opportunities to undertake roles
within the occupational therapy team dependent on your
experience and interests.
MidCentral is the major provider, funder and planner of health and disability services
throughout the greater Manawatu region, including the 300-bed Palmerston North Hospital.

You will be required to register with the Health and Care
Professions Council and want to be involved in teaching and

You will be an experienced occupational therapist with a
commitment to quality occupational therapy education and
research, wanting to work as part of an experienced and
dedicated team. Experience of an educational role in either a
Higher Education Institution or practice setting is required.

speech, language and communication needs and associated conditions .
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
Full-time. £23,720 per annum with full school holidays.
We require an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to work with a cohort
of students aged seven to 19. Applicants should be highly motivated and
passionate about supporting students with complex sensory, motor and
functional difficulties to access education, and to develop their functional
skills within the community. The successful applicant will have a positive and
flexible approach and an interest in working with children and young people
who have communication needs and associated learning difficulties.
