“ Hurry up boys , you have to be ready to go in five minutes !”
Soon they were crawling through the jungle . It felt very unnatural to them , and Scott almost said something , but another person in their group stopped him before he could let out a sound . “ We can ’ t give away our spot ,” he whispered . Boom ! “ Woah , what just happened ?” asked Scott . “ A bomb , what do you think , Tweeweiler ?” Lieutenant Marshall responded emphatically . “ I just didn ’ t know . I am new to this ,” Scott whispered . “ Well , there will be a lot more where that came from . Now take cover .” Ka-Boom ! Another bomb exploded over their heads . “ Let ’ s move into battle , boys ,” Lieutenant Marshall said . “ Here we go , Todd ,” Scott said . “ We ’ ve got this , Scott ,” Todd answered confidently . Then they got up , running , shooting , and dodging . They were suddenly working together like they had been doing this their entire lives .
When they heard a shot in the distance , they both turned around and saw a familiar face .
“ Chi !” Scott called out surprised , “ Are you on the Southern Vietnam and
American side ?” “ No , the other side ,” Chi replied . “ I am afraid we might- ” Scott started to say . “ We are so sorry things have to be this way between us ,” Todd added . “ I know what I have to do !” Chi blurted out . Pew ! Chi had fired at them , but he missed . Scott reacted instinctively , firing back .
