“ What have I done ?” he said frantically . “ All these years I have supported peace , and then I have to go against my principles and shoot at someone I used to know ? I have done something terribly wrong .”
Todd tried to calm Scott down . “ It ’ s an impossible situation . Your entire country is counting on you , me , and many other young soldiers to help win this war .” “ I will try to keep going ,” Scott explained . “ That ’ s the spirit ,” Todd replied .

The war went on until they were allowed to go home . It had been two months since they had been on US soil . As they made their way to the many helicopters , they were feeling bad for the people who had to stay longer . “ You guys have done a noble thing ,” Admiral Dellacon claimed . “ Thank you , Admiral ,” they replied in unison . “ Please call me Burke .” It was a sweltering hot 90 degrees in Vietnam that day . While they were waiting , an unexpected bomb exploded . Boom ! Pew ! Scott fell down instantly . “ Treewieler ! Treewieler ! Are you all right ?” Admiral Dellacon shouted anxiously . “ Can you hear me ? Can you hear me !” Todd was stunned . “ Another soldier down ,” he thought . They had lost him . “ I must carry on his legacy . I must push peace and equal rights . I think he would want that ,” Todd said bravely . Because he was brave , and so was Scott Treewieler .
