This term in Science we were learning about ‘Light and Dark’. This experiment was to see which colours reflect light well in the dark and which material would be best to put on a school bag so that it could be seen in the dark. During our experiment we tested lots of different materials and colours. We found that tin foil was the material which reflected light the best. Tin foil was a good choice because it was bright in colour and it had a smooth texture which meant light bounces off the foil really well as it travels in a straight line!
In Geography we have been studying the Kumaoni region in the Himalaya. We have been looking at the lives of children in the area and drawing similarities and differences to us here in the UK. We have very articulately made models of Kumoani houses. They are very different from our houses, as they are very basic houses made out of straw, tin and stones. After learning about the Kumoani houses we really appreciate our houses and living standards, as it is a luxury compared to theirs.
World Book day was
wonderful!
Geography:Building Kumoani homes
As a part of world book day we have been given the oppurtunity to make fascinating costumes in school. We used our artistic talents and produced innovative characters such as Fantastic Mr Fox, Cat Woman, Formula one driver, PJ mask and lots more. It was a delightful day of bringing a book to life and fundraise at the same time.
