Fashion Outlets of Chicago, 5220 Fashion Outlets Way: Santa
HQ offers the opportunity to experience the magic of Santa’s
workshop through innovative and interactive digital activities.
Throughout their visit, guests can use the workshop’s magic
mirror to turn into an elf, find out where they land on Santa’s
Naught or Nice O’ Meter, and more.
Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Ave.: The Friends of
Batavia Public Library will hold its monthly Used Book Sale
at the library. Thousands of gently-used books, CDs, DVDs,
audiobooks, and video games will be available for purchase at
bargain prices. Children’s books, games, and puzzles will also
be available.
Kent Fuller Air Station Prairie, 2400 Compass Rd.: Recycling
is important. Learn how to increase your recycling habits at
home and work. Enjoy family activities and crafts at this free,
all-ages event.
Kenosha Public Museum, 5500 First Ave.: Enjoy stories, craft,
fossils and a dino dig, and meet Frankie, the life-sized walking,
roaring baby T-rex! Free family activity co-sponsored by the
Kenosha Public Library.
Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, 220 E. Chicago Ave.:
Chicago artists transform the museum for children and their
grown-ups. Play with the power of language in projects in-
spired by “Direct Message: Art, Language, and Power.” Family
Days are free monthly programs for kids and their grown-ups.
Enjoy free admission while taking part in workshops, open-
studio sessions, gallery tours, and performances, all designed
and led by Chicago artists. Family Days are organized by Grace
Needlman, Manager of Youth and Family Programs, and Ellen
Chu, Coordinator of Family, Youth, School and Teacher Pro-

books on the 2020 Bluestem List? This month, we’re reading
and discussing Her Right Foot by Dave Eggers. Family members

before the discussion date.

cleaning beaches, removing invasive plants and collecting
important data through citizen science projects. Events are held
year-round at natural areas along our local Lake Michigan shore
and throughout the Chicago metro area.
