HEALTH & SAFETY Taking your child to and from nursery To make the nursery a secure place for children, there are security locks in place on each door. Every child must be collected from nursery by a named adult who must be over 16 years of age. Your child will not be entrusted to a person not known to nursery staff. It is the responsibility of parents/ carers to inform the nursery of alternative arrangements for the collection of their child. Parents/ carers bringing or collecting children by car, are asked to please park sensibly and considerately in the designated zone. If you have to come to Nursery to drop off or collect your child, other than the start and end of session times, please report to the Main Reception. This is in the interests of safety for all our children on the campus. Security All secure doors are designed to be operated by adults only and are alarmed. Parents/ carers are asked not to allow or encourage children to open doors especially when leaving nursery. Parents/ carers are also asked to be very vigilant when leaving nursery and not allow any unaccompanied child/ children to leave along with you. Parents/ carers are asked to keep their child/ children by the hand when leaving nursery and to supervise them at all times. Emergency Contacts Parents must provide an emergency contact name and number and ensure that this is kept up to date. In particular, this applies to mobile phones. The name and telephone number of your local doctor must also be given to the nursery. If a child is taken ill at school, has an accident or it becomes necessary to close the school, every effort will be made to contact parents in the first instance.
