WOMEN ’ S GOLF
LLGA ’ s Fall Fling was held on Saturday , October 2 . It was a lovely day for golf , the course was in fabulous shape and Scot set up some fun holes as alternatives to a straight captain ’ s choice . There was a small , but enthusiastic turnout , and we all enjoyed lunch afterwards .
Officers for 2022 - 2024 were nominated and elected as follows : Co-Presidents - Carol Blair and Jane Mortenson ; Secretary - Suzanne Williams ; Treasurer - Tammy Shomo .
Following lunch and our meeting Suzanne Williams and Susan Evans provided a bit of entertainment singing “ A Loverly Round of Ladies Golf ”. .
A Loverly Round of Ladies Golf ( Sung to the tune of Wouldn ’ t it be Loverly from My Fair Lady ) Written by Susan & Mike Evans
All we want is a time to play No men in front to us delay C ’ mon girls , what do you say ? It really should be loverly .
Lots of birdies for us to make A double bogey for ole times sake No ball hit in a lake Oh , wouldn ’ t that be loverly ?
On number one we ’ re just warming up We don ’ t care if we make three putts On two we find the cup So still , it ’ s very loverly .
** Oh , how loverly it would be to hit the third fairway On in three , three putts , O rats ! - No par- for us TODAY
On number four to the left we go Goodness gracious this green is slow On five our putts roll down the slope That isn ’ t very loverly .
In the creek on number six Someone just yelled “ Fiddlesticks !” The men behind , they ’ re having fits We think it ’ s sort of loverly .
** So embarrassed to hit it out of bounds on number seven
Three lousy shots , four putts , Oh No ! - Did we just shoot ELEVEN ?
Birdie putt on number eight On number nine drives are long and straight Next shot lands on the green — WE ’ RE GREAT ! We ’ re thinking that it ’ s loverly .
Our drives on ten are up the hill Eleven ’ s a bitch , but we ’ re grinnin ’ still Two putts on twelve - it ’ s such a thrill It ’ s really very loverly .
** Oh how easily our drives can reach the thirteenth green Fourteen , what the hell ? – that hole It makes us want to SCREAM !
Fifteen , sixteen - a piece of cake We don ’ t even see the lake A great chip-in , for heaven ’ s sake , It certainly is loverly !
On seventeen , not one ball wet Just one putt , high fives you bet One more hole , it ’ s not over yet But a birdie ’ s really loverly
** Now on to eighteen , not our favorite hole But we dance in three , Oh My The tales -that will be TOLD !
And a birdie putt gives us a four So much fun , we ’ ll be back for more Lies at lunch braggin ’ ‘ bout our score Oh , surely it is loverly
No lack of fun with this group !
