November 2021 Newsletter | Page 7

As I am sure most are aware , we planted some new pines on Deer run the beginning of October . We are also placing pine straw under them to present a cleaner look and keep out any unwanted vegetation . We did this to frame the holes and eliminate some turf mowing . They will look great once they get larger , we may in the future put some Azaleas underneath for some extra color in the spring .
We will continue to spot spray throughout the winter and try and get the golf courses as weed free as possible . We are applying our first application of pre-emergent to prevent winter annuals from germinating and will follow up in mid -January with our spring application .
We will not be over-seeding the fairways this winter , we will instead try to fertilize and spray pigment through the winter months to create healthier fairways in the spring and throughout next season . We will be overseeding all tees except our new ones . We want to continue to grow them as much as we can and not have them compete with another turf this winter .
As always thanks for your support and help in keeping Sun N Lake a great place to play ! We hope you have a great November and holiday season !
Best Regards ,
