WHAT THE JUDGES LIKED IN 2014 : Chiappone ’ s use of stripes , colors and patterns is “ bold and passionate .” The mix of old and new creates a contemporary vibe .
WHY WE LIKE IT NOW : The layout is symmetrical but isn ’ t humdrum , proof that here is where this talented pro shines . She pushes the design envelope with results that look organic , not staged or forced . Even loved but dated heirlooms are used in a punchy , playful way and look as if they belong right where they are .
