Meeting Minutes
Computer : Jake Flodquist Nothing big to report , we are on track .
Drills and Squares : Marlys Mooney Everything went smoothly with the State Fair . Overall , it was a great experience for exhibitors . Big thanks to Paul Miller for handling the music and helping announce when needed .
Futurity : Renee Lee Absent . Working on getting sponsorship materials together and looking at putting judges together . Numbers are good on entries .
Historian : Tim Wampfler Absent . Nothing to report .
Judges : Kim Ziegler Absent . Sara Schwartz reporting . 2024 judging seminar will be held March 22nd and 23 rd at Leatherdale Equine Center . Format will be the same as 2023 . Applicant testing and interviews will be conducted at the seminar . Application deadline is March 1 st , 2024 . The committee asks that the date be updated on the website . Sara will submit an email to Herald Journal . Board to review applications for new judges .
Marketing & Promotions : Rachel Duenow Everything is going good ; Rachel has been answering lots of Facebook questions . Sponsorship is going very well , over $ 33,000 in Ads and Sponsorships . With the $ 10,000 from WSCF , looking at over $ 43,000 . Working on getting the Champ Show Program to Herald to print , as well as working on Live stream ads . Any sponsor requests should be directed to sponsorwsca @ gmail . com . SWAG bags will be given to all exhibitors . Julia Northwick requested Rachel to post on Facebook a request for Champ Show volunteers . It was discussed to utilize the Spotlight email list to reach out to more potential volunteers . The use of “ Sign Up Genius ” was discussed , and the way it was used in the past .
Nominating : Kevin Berger Kevin asks the whole Board to visit with him if you know of any potential candidates , or have them reach out to Kevin . We do have the people that are re-running have given notice , otherwise there has not been a lot of inquiries . A question was brought up asking how many members on the Board are in the same Saddle Club and having more than one family member on the Board at the same time . Questions of the Bylaws were brought up . According to Article 3.3 the Board is in compliance with Bylaws as it stands . Article 3.3 “ No member club shall have more than 2 of its individual members as directors ”.
Procedures : Sandy Strube Sandy requested to put on the agenda to take the term “ Telegraph ” out of the Bylaws .
Publicity : Lori Taylor Kalli would like to thank everyone on the Board as this is her last meeting , she says it has been an amazing year representing this Association as Queen . The past month has been busy for the Court . They welcomed 8 wonderful candidates at the Royalty Banquet , volunteered at Special Olympics and Equimania .
