Pilot said, “Boeing engineering will draw up a plan of what they want built;
we build a part to that drawing. All parts go through first article inspection
(FAI), and then all products must fall within tolerances, measurements, and
material inspection — once it passes, we can then fabricate the part.” He
went on to say that there is another inspection process after manufacturing
and added, “The process is detailed, and the goal is 100 percent quality.”
