Senior Vice President of Op- erations, Pat O’Hara, said that regarding aerospace manufac- turing for Boeing, “I will stack this team up against any team out there.” The Lighthouse is a private, not-for-profit social enterprise started in 1918 and according to lhblind.org “has provided employment and sup- port to people who are blind in our community since 1918.” 34 NORTHWEST AEROSPACE NEWS The company is ISO9001 and an AS9100 accredited manufac- turer and has been a continual contractor with The Boeing Company since 1952. The web- site states, “We produce an array of machined parts and plastic injection molding for various aerospace manufacturers, as well as a host of office products and hydration equipment sold to the federal government and the U.S. military.” O’Hara said that while they don’t produce products for other OEMs, due to loyalty to Boeing, they do serve the federal government and military through their locations in Seattle, Spokane, and Summer- ville, South Carolina. Other cli- ents include Triumph Composite Systems, Inc., and BAE Systems. The company employs 70 machinists who are blind and deaf-blind.
