Commercial aviation creates one in 12 jobs around the world ... 65.5 million
direct and indirect jobs at present.
It generates 2.7 trillion dollars in global economic activity ... ranking aviation
20th in GDP if it were a country (comparable to Switzerland or Argentina).
Global passenger demand has doubled to four-plus-billion passengers annual-
ly since 2006 and we estimate it will double again within the next 20 years.
12-plus-million people fly on a commercial airliner every day ... equivalent to
the population of metropolitan Los Angeles or Paris.
While these statistics sound incredible about the business aspect of the aerospace industry, the formula for success or
failure is to satisfy their fair share of the over 12 million daily flyers (you). In today’s world if you have a smart phone and
it does not perform the way you want it to, someone is willing to sell you one for a great price that will, and you are likely
to take them up on it. If you fly on an airline that does not satisfy your sense of value and anticipated flying experience, I
assure you that in most cases there is an airline that will. The customer’s expectation, in an ever-changing environment of
the norm and the competition to meet those expectations, is a demanding master.
