• Dream- What does she want most out of her life?( Suzy wants to travel. She dreams of being financially independent enough to take her kids on trips the broaden their lives. When she was a high school student, she took a class trip to Europe that changed her life. She wants to continue those experiences with her family.)
• Problem type- What’ s the biggest problem the client faces today?( The day job doesn’ t pay enough for she and her family to have the kind of active lifestyle they want right now AND move toward her dream, so she’ d like to create an online business that supplemented or even replaced her income. The problem is that she doesn’ t know how.)
• More about the problem- Be specific about the problem.( Family travel can be very expensive so she really is interested in discovering how to minimize those costs while increasing her income. She believes there’ s a market for frugal travelers who love to travel for experience. And she believes she can create a business that she can do with minimal effort from anywhere around the world while she’ s traveling. She needs to figure out how to find that audience.)
• What’ s holding them back?- Be specific about the biggest issue.( Suzy is frightened of technology. So, she needs to find the right people who can help her build the infrastructure. She doesn’ t know who to trust yet, so she doesn’ t do anything.)
• What solutions have they tried?- Describe the solutions and the results.( She tried to do this on her own, but found the learning curve to be very steep and her time to be very limited because of family commitments. Then, she hired a friend to help her build a website and the necessary infrastructure but it wasn’ t very professional and she didn’ t like it, but she couldn’ t tell the friend because he did it for so little money. Now, she’ s ready to find a more professional approach, but isn’ t sure how to find the right company.)
• Are they committed?- Has your client demonstrated serious commitment to the solution?( Suzy has tried several times to get started, but has not met the kind of success she was hoping for. But she continues to be encouraged. She’ s recently attended a couple of training workshops to learn more about the business building process.)
