The Department of Conservative Dentistry
The Department Of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics aims at diagnosis, prevention and treatment of teeth involving dental caries, fractured teeth, discoloured teeth and diseases of pulp.
Patients undergo different restorative procedures such as Silver Amalgam, Inlays, Onlays, Crowns, Tooth Colour Restorations (GIC, Composite) aimed at conserving the natural tooth structure. Root canal procedures, Post & Core build up, Retreatments, Surgical Procedures for Preserving the Teeth such as Apicectomy, Hemisection, Bicuspidization etc. Esthetic procedures such as Smile Design, Management Of Discoloured Teeth (Bleaching) etc are carried out. All these treatments are provided at a very affordable prize to the patients.
In the department, daily at least 70-80 out patients are managed and treatment is provided to around 60-65 patients both by faculty, post graduate and under graduate students. This year on an average 18,000 out patients were managed and around 14500 patients were successfully treated.
The department is well equipped with Surgical Operating microscope, Radio Visio Graphy, Bleaching unit, X-Smart plus, Apexlocator Propex, Obtura II and Thermoprep, Ultrasonic Unit, Loupes, Variable Intensity Polymerization Equipments VLC Units and Triauto ZX for better treatment of complicated root canal treatment and performing advanced aesthetic procedures.
