This is a full-time programme that will provide the learner with a broad range of skills in the area of Healthcare . This course aims to respond to the growing demand for skilled workers within the Healthcare sector in Ireland
Modules : Palliative Care Support | Care Skills Care of the Older Person | Care Support Understanding Mental Health | Infection Prevention and Control | Work Experience Communications | First Aid Response Patient Moving & Handling
Entry Requirements : The course is aimed towards individuals who are over 21 years of age , are unemployed and have been getting certain Social Welfare payments for at least 6 months .
N . B . if you have been made unemployed / redundant due to COVID-19 you may be entitled to apply to VTOS .
Progression Options : This course can provide the learner with competencies to progress to QQI Level 6 programmes or Employment . This course provides relevant skills for employment in Hospitals , Nursing Homes , Community Care Assistants , etc . Learners can progress to further study in areas like Nursing Studies , Social Care , etc .
