"Public-NGO Cooperation and Strengthening Volunteering Processes in Turkey"
In the workshop hosted by the Presidency of the Council of European Union, Murat Özçelebi from the EU Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Secretary General of TÜSEV, Tevfik Başak Ersen, National Volunteering Committee Representative Belgin Ergül, and Attorn. Ömer Aykul took the floor in the panel "Volunteering in Turkey" moderated by Nil Memişoğlu, Country Coordinator of the UN Volunteers Programme and the definition of volunteerism and its legal processes were discussed.

"Civil Society Meetings"
The first of the civil society meetings were held in Ankara by the General Directorate of Civil Society Relations of the Ministry of Interior with the aim of increasing the capacity of NGOs and develop public-NGO cooperation. Nil Memişoğlu presented the report on the state of volunteerism in the world 2018, the latest publication on volunteerism, and spoke of the positive contributions of volunteerism, such as trust, solidarity, integrity, emotional support, local access and connections which will lead us to Sustainable Development Goals. Memişoğlu also gave the idea of increasing usage of the resources such as the "Young Volunteers Platform" in her speech.
All the developments, collaborations, projects and important steps taken by the UN Volunteers Programme throughout 2019 will be crowned in the event which will be held in December for 5 December "International Volunteer Day".
