Andrew Meier Under 8 Black Played 13 Won 9 Lost 3 Drew 1 Points for 134 Tries (670 points) Points Against 87 Tries (435 points) Top Try Scorer Joey Pawson 24 (120 points) Player of the Year Caleb Wilson Most improved Kian Moyna This year was our first year of tackle and the boys took to it like 'Ducks to Water'. Some mastered the technique quicker than others but by the end of the year everyone was making tackles. Caleb was our player of the year for his great all round play, especially in the tight and Kian was our most improved, one of our smaller players but with a huge heart. Andrew Under 8 Yellow Won Lost Top Points Scored Top Try Scorer Only lost one game 1 Peter Tafaese Peter Tafaese The under eight yellow team had a really good year only losing one game all season. We were lucky to have a good mix of players which included a couple of X-factor players. Given it was the boys’ first year of tackle our initial focus was on building the boys’ confidence in the tackle and helping them to understand the offside line and the ruck as much as they can at this age. As coaches we felt the team really developed over the year, disappointingly we did lose a couple of players during the season one before the season started he didn’t want to play and one during the season as he didn’t adjust to tackle and didn’t want to continue playing.
