The rest of the team worked really well together and we are very hopeful all will come back
next year for another season.
In terms of our outstanding players Peter Tafaese was our best attacking player and very
good on defense but still has a lot to learn about team sport but is a very gifted player. Luke
Atkinson had a very good season and really embraced the contact that came with tackle Luke
was voted player of the year by our parents which was deserved after a solid all-round year.
Tom Harris was one of our hardest working players making the most tackles of any player on
the team and was consistent week in, week out. Ryan Elvidge really improved as the season
went on and was voted as our most improved player and like Tom had a very high work rate.
Jacob Burk will be one to watch for the future with some raw natural ability.
The highlight of the season was beating Sumner for the reason as they only substitute a
couple of players and we rotate the entire team. Sumner gave us no chance of beating them
reflected in the negative comments from their coach so was a very satisfying win for the
team, this was followed closely by the loss to Christchurch Indi cars a team that hasn’t lost
for the last couple of years. Our boys’ played brilliantly as a team and we were really unlucky
not to come away with the win. The biggest highlight for me as a coach though was seeing
