Bad Luck Ends as Lupeg575 finds Victory Lane
Race 11 got underway at Pocono Speedway with 8 drivers showing up. LupeG575 would grab his 6th pole of the season with a blistering 49.34. The race would be slowed down considerably after a race full of cautions. 14 in total would ruin what could have been a green filled race.
LupeG575 would pace the field for the early going before Megatron8121 took over the lead for 13 laps mid race after passing LupeG575 with fresher tires. Lupe would then struggle to find position 1 again for the middle part of the race. With the race winding down LupeG575 would regain the lead and would get challenges from JamieDobbs911 and points leader oddball1791.
Chadrick32 and southernshot would go through a rough race for each, as loose racecars hampered what could have been good runs. The race would come down to a green white checkered attempt on lap 43, as LupeG575 would hold the lead. Off turn 1 JamieDobbs911 would get past him and continue to lead him. Into the tunnel turn on the last lap contact between the two allowed Megatron8121 to catch both. LupeG575 would squeeze past with Dobbs spinning out and winding up 8th. Megatron8121 tried all he could but couldn’t get past Lupe in the final turn.
This marks LupeG575′s 2nd CPR win. Next week we are onto Michigan for the Pure Michigan 80. A quiet night for Webbs6212 would put himself with another top 5, and also Collton would earn his career best CPR finish with a 3rd after avoiding carnage on the last lap.
Brooms out, Lupeg575 takes Michigan
After 11 races of the season, there was yet to be a back to back winner in the CPR Sprint Cup series. That changed Tuesday night as LupeG575 became the first driver to win back to back races.
LupeG575 grabbed the pole with a time of 36.20 and didn’t look back. He would lead a total of 35 laps and would control most of the race.
Next week we are off to Indianapolis for the Brickyard 80.
Hometown Hero jamiedobbs911 wins at Indy
The G Energy Brickyard 80 represents one of the most prestigious races of the CPR Sprint Cup series season. Ten drivers showed up with hopes of taking home the trophy.
LupeG575 once again posted the fastest lap in qualifying with a 48.58, with Bobby_Buschfan72 starting along side. Lupe would jump out to the lead but it wouldn’t be long before his Stephens Motorsports teammate JamieDobbs911 would get past him. Dobbs would continue to lead before his first pit stop of the evening would hand the lead over to Megatron8121. Megatron8121 wouldn’t lead long as JamieDobbs911 zoomed past in no time.
The race which started off very clean, went bad a quarter way through. Multiple cautions caused by a struggling Swagger-Racing26 would slow down the race, and with a track that wasn’t kind to cold tires it would make way for a troubling ending. After a rough stretch the drivers finally hit their final GWC attempt.
