All-Star Surprise: webbs Stuns Field
The first annual CPR Sprint Cup All Star Race was held at Kentucky Speedway, a fan favorite and driver favorite track. Seven drivers would come out with hopes of taking home the prize trophy.
The scheduled All Star Open race was cancelled due to the low turnout, allowing all drivers to advance. This made way for a seven car field with 3 race winners and 4 non race winners. LupeG575 grabbed the pole for segment 1 after scorching two 29.20 laptimes.
He would control segment 1 from the get go and continue to lead until contact from Swagger-Racing26 would put him behind and give JamieDobbs911 the lead and he would take segment 1. After a last lap crash
by megatron8121 , he would be eliminated from contention.
Segment 2 had the top 3 from segment 1 re qualify, so once again LupeG575 put his machine on the pole. Swagger-Racing26 would win the segment, as Webbs6212 got 2nd, JamieDobbs911 3rd, Lupe 4th, and chadrick 5th. 6th place finishing Collton was eliminated.
The third and final segment got underway with Swagger-Racing leading. After hitting the wall off turn 2 , it opened up the race for Webbs6212. Luck wouldn’t go his way to begin the race though as he fell back to 5th before spinning out. This put Webbs6212 in the 5th and final position and without much chance to win.
On the restart JamieDobbs911 shot out to the lead, but LupeG575 wasn’t far behind as the two battled. Contact between the two bottled up the entire field as Webbs6212 somehow from his 5th spot squirted through to take the lead on the last lap. Chadrick32 followed closely but couldn’t quite get to Webbs6212 bumper as he would take the first annual all star
race. Chadrick32 was 2nd followed by LupeG575. Swagger 4th, and Dobbs 5th.
This marks Webbs6212′s 2nd CPR win, oddly enough both in non points races.
