parents work nowadays and , sometimes , technology is a good way to distract a kid while the parents finish up some of their daily tasks without the interference of the child . And secondly , everything nowadays is accessed utterly easily and no amount of parental control will fully limit what the children are exposed to . I know this from personal experience , because my father had blocked all of the mature content channels on our TV with the hopes that me and my brother wouldn ’ t stumble upon such content . However , once when I was doing research for my media paper in my first year of high school , I was doing research on some site about movies when a pop-up appeared and I clicked on it , clueless about its contents . Needless to say , I was , and still am because I just remembered it , scarred for life . Sometimes , avoiding such content can prove to be impossible , thus the least we can do for our children is teach them the truths about sex and its consequences .
Sex education can prevent the number of young girls getting impregnated and consequently , saying farewell to a bright future . This sounds extreme and somewhat exaggerated , because some teenage girls who choose to have the baby and take care of them may say that it was the right choice for them and that it feels wonderful being a mother . However , these are just what these girls constantly tell themselves to keep sane and to justify their doings , but in reality , having a baby at the age of thirteen is anything but wonderful . You can ’ t be a baby and be responsible for a baby , that ’ s not how it works . In fact , that ’ s the recipe for disaster and broken dreams . Most Armenians engage in sexual intercourse after they get married , or at least they say they do , but some findings show otherwise . Garik Hayrapetyan , a United Nations Fund Executive representative , stated that underage pregnancies among Armenian girls are 2.8 %, meaning that “ 28 underage girls of every 1000 give birth to children ” ( ArmenPress , 2013 ).
