and what truer and more faithful friends to humans than devoted animals. We believe that the ongoing support grant will truly bring our planned out project to life and make the future of Armenia’s stray animals brighter and better as our citizens will start adopting more, not only bringing a pet into their homes, but bringing devotion and love. The DINGO team organization is entirely made up of volunteers and that is why we need as much help and support as we can get, predominantly financial support. Our only source of income is through donations by the generous public; however, even with donations, we still struggle to make ends meet as we lack the finances needed to take care of the animals and give them shelter. In extreme situations, such as when one of our dogs is in need of an urgent medical care, we end up owing a debt to the doctor (DiNGO Dogs Need Your Support, n.d.). Two years ago, the DINGO team was on the verge of closing due to the lack of financial support and that’s when we asked the public for help. We raised a great deal of money and we met our goal of five thousand dollars. However, that was two years ago and right now, we are struggling once again. With the increase of stray animals and the need for their sterilization and vaccination, we need money to accomplish our goals and to save these animals, who are in desperate need of salvation. Our benevolent NGO was established in the year 2009, when the issue of a colossal number of stray dogs who had major injuries was at its peak. A group of kind hearted volunteers gathered together and took on the responsibility to shelter and care for some stray dogs, and more and more animal loving Armenians gathered around these volunteers; that’s when and how the DINGO team came to be. Since the establishment of our organization, we have successfully carried out activities that met our primary objectives. First and foremost, we have launched an educative program in many high schools of Yerevan, called “Care for Your Dog.” Our instructors are expertly educated in the field, as our team has twice participated in the 2
