Global Education and European Teaching Strategies 2018-1-ES01-KA101-049441 Activity 1: A specifically designed workshop on sustainability co- organised with an experienced partner, the European research institute Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste and held in the school. The programme included an excursion to the research site of Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, a discussion with experts and a presentation of best practice examples on how to contribute to ecological sustainability through research and teaching and learning practices. An expert talk on how to increase the representation of women in science and technical professions was also organized. The excursion was followed by intense working sessions on how to transfer the ideas for the quality development process in AHS Rahlgasse. Activity 2: A group of teachers took part in the international encounter for March of Remembrance and Hope in Auschwitz- Birkenau in Poland. The “March of Remembrance and Hope” is a non-profit association that offers the program “MoRaH” to Austrian school students. The purpose of this march is to teach students of various religious and ethnic backgrounds about the dangers of intolerance through the study of the Holocaust and other World War II genocides as well as to promote better relations among people of diverse cultures. The MoraH 4-day programme combined guided tours in the memorial sites in Auschwitz I and II, encounters with holocaust survivers, visits to sites of Jewish Life in Krakau and of course the participation in the march itself which brought together teachers, students, holocaust survivors and family members of holocaust victims from many countries in the world. In addition a preparation workshop for teachers took place in Austria. A public presentation of project work in schools took place after the international meeting and gave an insight in anti-racism work and holocaust education projects of the participating schools. The aims and objectives of the project were fully achieved and the results were really relevant to the school mission. Some of the results were:  curriculum development for the training course on GUS topics, pinpointing ideas for encouraging girls to take up science and technical topics.  the application for a new Erasmus+ KA101 project in 2015 call in order to follow up on this proposal.  participation in an Erasmus+ KA 219 strategic partnership project (2015-17)  creation of an international driving team and a training course for the participants  new optional subject: Module “Go International” for upper secondary students
