• Mt. Carmel Highway. Enter the park via the Mt. Carmel Highway on the
south or east side of the park. It is a 12-mile drive that takes you through
steep terrain as well as a tunnel. You may not take a vehicle that is taller
than 13 feet through the tunnel. Moreover, you may not take a vehicle
combination that is longer than 50 feet. Furthermore, a tall vehicle or one
that is wider than seven feet and ten inches will need assistance going
through the tunnel. This affects RV drivers in particular.
