he ISK council capitalized on use of mass media and established extensive, strong and structured
relationships with editors. This allowed ISK to engage in many topical and contentious issues on land
that were newsworthy. In the early 2000s, the ISK council established the Land & Property Digest
publication, which was an addition to the already existing Surveyor Journal that only targeted surveying
professionals. Its purpose was to help ISK engage in issues of public concern more regularly and robustly
in more reader-friendly language and presentation, in contrast to the very technical Surveyor Journal.
