SK members were also involved in various public bodies like the Kenya
Roads board, Kenya National Highways Authority (KENHA), Kenya Rural
Roads Authority (KERRA), and Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA), Public
Procurement Oversight Authority (PPOA), National Housing Corporation
(NHC), Ndung’u Land Commission, National Land Policy process and the
Constitutional Review process.
Despite the many achievements during the 2000s, the organization was
faced with challenges including low member registrations and budgetary
constraints to carry out lobbying activities across the nation. Additionally, ISK
and surveyors in general had been condemned nationally due to the land
grab culture in which they were perceived as partisan players.
