1. KARO TRIBE - ETHIOPIA
This southern Ethiopian tribe can
be identified by their elaborate
bodily scars and body paint.
Beauty is an important aspect of
the Karo Tribe especially for the
women in the tribe. The women
in the tribe inflict lacerations to
create a unique pattern on their
torso and back. This is done for
vanity as women are perceived as
more attractive and mature once
they have these tribal marks.
