For my service project, I wanted to address an issue going on with the men’s bathrooms. I always questioned why men did not have urinal partitions available in any bathroom along with a lack of bathrooms open to the male population at East. I wrote a letter to Greg Maughan and addressed my issues which led to a face to face conversation of me reiterating the point. I've managed to get the A floor bathroom unlocked and have been told urinal partitions will be set up within 1-5 years. The project benefits the incoming class men of East because it will provide them with a much required level of privacy and protection from harassment. The project taught me value in my voice and how speaking up about a problem can change it for the greater good.

For my service Josh and I teamed up with the school administration to help out with student services like the Boutique and washrooms that East provides. Our project was meant to focus on helping impoverished people in the community and we thought that it would be best to help our local school community. East provides services like the Stash and the Boutique, which provide food and clothing to students that are in need. This service has helped the community at East because these student services are always in need of volunteer work and by donating our time and efforts, we made the jobs of the people who supervise the services just a little bit easier. This service has shown me just how easy it is to get involved and provide much needed help in a local community.

For my service project I chose to try to get urinal partitions installed in the boys restrooms at East. I had discussions with my fellow classmates, bolstered support, and met with the principal to discuss the issue. My project really helped me understand how much of a change I can have on my community.
