There is a program at East called the East High Outdoor Education. Through the help of different faculty members Brooklyn Franco was able to connect with Mr. Lloyd. Mr. Lloyd is a wonderful teacher who has been working at East for several years. He teaches Biotechnology, Biotechnology Concurrent, Biology LEP, Earth Systems, and Earth Systems LEP. In addition to all the spectacular classes he teaches he is incharge of the Environmental Education program at East High School.
First we are going to go into more depth of what Environmental Education or EE. With the help of www.plt.org and www.bbc.com
we understand that EE is a curriculum that allows individuals to explore environmental issues, participate in problem solving, and take action to improve the environment. Individuals develop a deeper understanding of environmental issues and have the skills to make informed and responsible decisions. There are several benefits that come from it that aren’t necessarily knows initially. It can improve academic achievement, improve student health, it is a great way to support STEM, and meets the needs of the 21st century.
