Brooklyn was able to involve the whole entire class in this project by having people split up in cars and deliver fliers around different neighborhoods on the East Bench. The students played a huge role in spreading the word and creating an awareness of the services this program needs. Other people involved are the recipients of the equipment and any students who will be participating in the outdoor education in the future. The other person involved other than the students is Brooklyn and Mr. Lloyd. Brooklyn is the communicator and coordinator of the whole entire project. Mr. Lloyd is in charge of the group and helps them learn in a different environment.

The way that students were able to help involved them traveling around the East Bench. While delivering fliers one student, Kennedy Gabel said, “It was very fun and exciting to go out in to the neighborhood providing good service for my peers. I didn’t even know much about this program, but I think it is awesome and I hope people donated towards this cause.”

Another really effective aspect about this program was that as the students in our 2010 English class participated in delivering fliers they were able to help spread an awareness about Environmental Education so it can grow and become stronger.

The students involved in the environmental program travel all over Utah exploring and in extremely adventures places. The learning they are doing is so important and very similar to one of the key themes of this class being service learning.

Brooklyn was able to put together and amazing project that allowed several different groups and people to benefit. Her project had a good turnout and we are all very happy for her, Mr. Lloyd, and the Environmental Education students.
