JEAN SHOES FOR JIGGERS

By: Michael Grant

Jam Boyden and Ryann Denison teamed up for their service project in order to help a common parasite in Uganda known as jiggers. Jam and Ryann got the class involved by having us donate jeans which we ended up cutting in the shape of shoes. They were working with the organization Sole Hope which their primary focus is on helping those with the foot parasite jiggers.

I was very impressed by their project because of the amount of jeans that were first donated, then by how many shoe cutouts our class was able to do. I believe it was very successful and I am sure that Sole Hope and people in Uganda were very grateful for what Jam and Ryann accomplished for them.

What was their service project?
