the great dinosaur debate
In 2017 there is a big debate about bringing dinosaurs back to life. Dinosaurs became extinct around 65 million years ago. There were over 700 different types of dinosaurs that have been identified today. There are potentially many, many more types of dinosaurs that are still to be discovered. In 1842 Sir Richard Owen gave dinosaurs their name because he thought it was a fearful name for an animal. The question is - can and should scientists bring dinosaurs back to life?
We have spoken to pupils at Lanark Primary School to get their opinions. Aaron in Primary 6 says that he thinks that “… it is scientifically possible to bring back dinosaurs but they shouldn’t because they kill you and extinct humans!” Similarly, Cara and Bethany agree: “We think that it could be possible to bring them back but it is very dangerous we could all be eaten and there is no Meaning for dinosaurs to be alive”.
